You'll smell the great roasting coffee scent a block away. That's because Sacred Grounds is the San Pedro coffee house that actually roasts its own fresh beans. And the roaster is right out on 6th Street where you can see the goodness going in and the magic coming out.
Sacred Grounds is a real, traditional coffee house with an eclectic clientele and great choice of coffee drinks, pastries, sandwiches, and salads.
It's Downtown San Pedro's night out and it's a lot of fun. The First Thursday Art Walk is when studios and galleries are all open to the public.
You'll find refreshments and a chance to talk with the artists about their work.
Restaurants and bars in the Downtown area have specials and many have entertainment.
Take a former department store building built during the Art Deco era, fill it with antiques, and make it a place for art, music, food, and all other good things.
That's only the beginning of how to describe It's Showtime and the 731-741 Pacific Avenue building.
Downstairs is the Speakeasy Cabaret that hosts music and other arts events.
On the main level is an array of antiques and collectibles, many of which are truly one-of-a-kind (as in literally the only one left in the world).
They say there are those who've never seen San Pedro in the daytime.
That's because they just come for the nightlife.
Could be because there's plenty going on in the area most every night.
The First Thursday of every month is the Art Walk and restaurants and bars have special entertainment (and usually special offers) to celebrate the night. You'll find all the action in Downtown between Palos Verdes Street and Pacific Avenue generally between 5th and 9th Streets.
Visit San Pedro is pleased to present some of our area musicians for consideration to entertain at events, meetings, weddings, or other venues.
Shakeh performs adult contemporary with twists of folk and other genres. She's well-experienced in performing in many different situations and venues.
Wherever you turn, San Pedro is a community with art and culture. Our Downtown area is the main arts district with galleries and studios.
We are fortunate to have the San Pedro Art Association, established in 1936 and more vital than ever. The association has galleries at CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles and presents shows and events at other locations throughout the community.
When the Warner Grand Theatre opened on January 20, 1931, studio mogul Jack Warner called it, “The Palace of Your Dreams.”
Over the years it has been that a more to generations.
The Warner Grand was the first theater in the area to be equipped to show films with sound. Elegant surroundings for Hollywood’s features, shorts, and serials, and especially for those Saturday kids’ matinees.
