The Chefs Studio will have a cooking demonstration with a guest chef Jerico Hernandez on Monday, April 22 beginning at 7 p.m. Chefs Studio is in the Penthouse Kitchen of the Deco Art Deco Building at the corner of Pacific Avenue and 8th Street.
Chefs Studio cooking demonstrations are very popular both because they feature outstanding chefs and they’re held in a stunning venue.

Navy Seeks to Defend

But not exactly how you might think

The United States Naval Academy won last year’s race and is returning to try to keep its trophy. The race and its related activities are headquartered at Los Angeles Yacht Club. Ten colleges will compete: the host Califor-¬nia Maritime Institute, Cork (Ireland) Insti-¬tute of Technology, USC, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, and the Coast Guard, Navy, Maine, and New York Academies, and the College of Charleston. Racing will take place from about 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8 and about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10.

Ask Chef and Co-owner Nima Karimi why eat at Sebastian’s and he’ll say you will leave “filled with beautiful energy and satisfaction from having new daily specials and Sebastian’s favorites.”

At 309 W. 7th Street, Sebastian’s Mediterranean Cuisine is the newest restaurant in a duo of dining establishments with Chef Karimi at the helm. He likewise owns Matteo’s Pizza (1621 S. Gaffey Street) which opened last year.

16th Annual LA Harbor International Film Festival March 14-17 at the Warner Grand Theatre

The Los Angeles Harbor International Film Festival will premiere with its “Read the Book, See the Movie” program featuring Black Beauty.
The program promotes literacy and more thoughtful ways to view films, with this year some 600 books being distributed to students throughout the region, who have been reading and discussing it and will see the movie at a special morning screening on Thursday, March 14 in the festival’s home, the historic Warner Grand Theatre.
The opening night will include a screening of “16 Candles” from 1984 at 7:30 p.m.
