The Lonesome West

The play journeys to the west of Ireland where a vision of small-town despair, restlessness, and boredom inspire homicidal behavior. Two brothers squabble over the inheritance left by their recently deceased father. Also, there’s a rumor about town that one of them may have murdered the father over a haircut-related insult. The local parish priest and a young girl from the community, also their bootleg whiskey supplier, make futile attempts to keep the brothers from quarreling. Advisory: Graphic language, slurs, onstage violence, and dark themes. Little Fish Theatre, 777 S.

In the building at 731-741 S. Pacific Ave. in San Pedro's Uptown, you'll find history. Lots of history. It's San Pedro's time capsule and was constructed in the 1930s as the Montgomery Ward Department Store building.

Nowadays, it's the center of art deco elegance and much more in the area.
